NCIC Business NH Award

Northern Community Investment Corporation (NCIC) has been named the 2016 Business Assistance Organization of the Year by Business NH Magazine and the NH Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

NCIC is a private nonprofit focused on strengthening employment opportunities across northern New Hampshire and northeastern Vermont. NCIC strives to support employers and entrepreneurs with lending solutions and coaching. NCIC also collaborates with communities to develop economic solutions by planning, raising financial resources and project management through to implementation.

“To have been able to help organizations succeed in their endeavors is very gratifying and we are so appreciative to the folks who took this opportunity to nominate us. We hope to help many more find positive solutions to meet their needs and challenges,” stated NCIC President Jon Freeman.

The Business Assistance Organization Award nominations were submitted by businesses and community leaders who recently received services from NCIC. The Business of the Year awards recognizes winners in nine industry categories. Applicants go through two rounds of judging, the first is conducted by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives in order to determine three semi-finalists. Ultimately, the winners are selected by the Panel of Excellence, consisting of executives from the previous year’s winning companies. The selections were announced and profiled in the May issue of Business NH Magazine. Winners received their awards on May 26 at the annual Business of the Year Awards Luncheon. Business NH also produced a short video highlighting NCIC’s accomplishments over recent years.

“Business NH Magazine and the New Hampshire Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives are proud to name NCIC as our Business Assistance Organization of the Year. The judges were impressed by the breadth and depth of NCIC’s services to help businesses to grow and with its commitment to help move the North Country economy forward,” stated Business NH Magazine Editor Matt Mowry.

This selection also highlights NCIC’s 41 years of service in northern New Hampshire and northeastern Vermont. Among NCIC’s products and initiatives are an expansive business lending program, coaching services, management of a regional travel and tourism promotion program, the regional expansion of high-speed Internet access and community collaboration efforts focused on economic advancement. NCIC offices are located in Lancaster, NH and St. Johnsbury, VT.
